Architecture designed for Unity The immediate strength of the Ophidian Seren lies in its incredible sense of unity. While many bookshelf speakers tend to segment the frequency spectrum, the Seren presents music as an indivisible whole. This precision is not a happy accident, but the result of rigorous technical engineering aimed at eliminating phase shifts between the drivers.
Technology at the service of Natural Sound:
Pure Mid-Bass Performance: The 180mm anodised aluminium driver features a unique indexed cone/surround junction. This technical detail minimizes parasitic reflections exactly where the driver hands over to the tweeter—the critical region where vocal authenticity is won or lost.
The Sonolex Tweeter: Lifted from the flagship Ffion floorstander, this 22mm coated fabric soft dome combines a wide surround (to reach deep into the midrange) with a small dome (for wide dispersion). The result? An expanded "sweet spot"—you don't need to be frozen in place to fully enjoy the soundstage.
Mundorf Components: The crossover uses only the essentials, but only the best: air-cored copper coils and German poly-film capacitors. This voluntary simplicity preserves the signal's energy and transient speed.
The Magic Listening Experience: The Seren is a "serious" speaker, but one that knows how to play. There is no bluff here, no heavy filtering to over-soften the highs, but a deep focus on timing and tonal coherence. It sits exactly at the balance point between a playful character and a resolution dedicated to pure listening pleasure.
