Final Touch Audio Themisto: mastery of the hybrid conductor

Final Touch Audio makes its digital cables in a series called Themisto, available in three interfaces: RCA, BNC and AES/EBU. This digital cable uses a hybrid conductor design, created by working unpurified copper wire mixed with a generous amount of gold and silver particles. Each of these three metals contributes a distinct sonic character: copper provides substance and weight to the low frequencies, gold imparts warmth to the midrange, and silver enhances resolution while benefiting high-frequency performance. Together, these three metals give the Themisto a unique sonic personality.

While Final Touch Audio is renowned for its forged conductors, that doesn't mean forging is its only trick. The brand actually masters several conductor-manufacturing techniques tailored to the specific needs of different cable types. The wire is mechanically worked (hammered) to achieve the desired dimensions and technical specification, an approach inspired by the history and craft of katana swordmaking.

The listening experience

The Themisto excels in its ability to reproduce a musical flow with unprecedented richness of colour. The copper/gold/silver combination translates into a complete tonal balance: bass with substance and weight, a warm midrange, and resolved, detailed treble that never turns aggressive. As with all Final Touch Audio cables, at least 100 hours of run-in are needed for the cable to reveal its full sonic potential.
