Aurorasound HFSA-02: a tube amplifier built to last a lifetime

The HFSA-02 is a tube integrated amplifier. The input stage uses ECC83 and ECC82 tubes, while the output stage runs a push-pull EL34 configuration with a Lundahl output transformer and UL connection, delivering 31W per channel. The amplifier sits in a solid maple frame 22mm thick, topped with a 4mm solid aluminium top plate: a perfectly rigid structure with no flex, solidly supporting the weight of the transformer and protecting the sensitive tubes for faithful reproduction of both low-mids and delicate highs.

The listening experience

Designed and handbuilt, the HFSA-02 meets the demands of both high-resolution digital playback and analogue listening. The EL34 tubes run in self-bias mode, simplifying maintenance: they can be swapped for other EL34 brands with no adjustment needed. Components are chosen for quality and reliability (Vishay, PRP and Takuman resistors, WIMA film capacitors, TDK-EPCOS electrolytic capacitors, custom power transformers made in Japan, ROHM silicon-carbide rectifier diode), for an amplifier designed to stay unchanged for decades.
